Outreach Program @ MKL


THE LAUNCH CEREMONY OF OUTREACH PROGRAM AT MUZIUM TELEKOM

Muzium Telekom, an interactive museum under the management of Menara Kuala Lumpur had launched Outreach Program for students and youth on the 31 May 2011. 

It was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Dr Halim Shafie, Chairman of Telekom Malaysia.

Also present during the launch ceremony were Puan Zuraidah Mohd Said, Chief Executive Officer of Menara Kuala Lumpur and Dr. Zainal Abu Zarim, Secretary of Board of Trustees Yayasan Telekom Malaysia. 

"The objective of this program is to bring students and youth to Kuala Lumpur and to educate them about the history of telecommunications during the olden days, recent years and the future," said Puan Zuraidah Mohd Said, Chief Executive Officer of Menara Kuala Lumpur. 

"In addition, they will also have a chance to spend the night at the Muzium Telekom which will be filled with fun and educational activities catering specially for them," she added. 

This program has been introduced since September 2010 and to date, a total of 5,180 students from Malaysia, including those from Indonesia and Thailand, who had experienced the benefits of this unique program. 

A host of activities await the students such as team building sessions, spiritual aspiration and be exposed on learning the usage of technology information.  

Telekom Malaysia, parent company of Muzium Telekom supports the Outreach Program which prioritize students and youth who love participating in outdoor activities nationwide.

Through the ‘Team Malaysia’ campaign, it is the newest effort by TM in showing support for the athletes around the world and also sports fans nationwide to show the spirit of friendship of all nations, religions, races and ages. 

TM’s effort in starting the campaign shows its full commitment as a corporate organization supporting the sports events in sync with our Prime Minister’s wish in building Malaysia as a sports cultured nation.
Through the Outreach Program, students will get a chance to meet athletes during the self motivation program at the same time introduce the educational program to all Malaysians nationwide to be part of the sports event.

Starting 1 September 2011, visitors visiting Muzium Telekom will get to experience a new program known as MomenTM. This interactive educational center introduces high speed broadband coordinated by TM and gives visitors a chance to experience first hands on sights, sounds and motions with the latest telecommunication technologies. 

Muzium Telekom was officially opened to visitors in 1994. At Muzium Telekom, visitors can experience the nation’s 120 years of telecommunications development, starting from ‘ketuk-ketuk’ system and Morse code right up to today's digital mobile phone network and Unifi, high speed broadband.
